You just have to try these gluten free crepes. Not sure how many of you are familiar with French cuisine but a buckwheat crepe in French is a Galette and they are traditionally gluten free! Made with buckwheat, they are delicious savoury for a quick gluten free dinner and with a sweet topping the perfect quick gluten free dessert. A sprinkle of sugar and a squeeze of lemon or a glug of maple syrup and you won't even know it is supposed to be the savoury crepe!

Delicious gluten free crepes made with buckwheat

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of buckwheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 250ml of milk
  • 125ml of water
  • 1/4 tspn of salt
  • butter for cooking

Method

  1. Whisk the eggs, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth. Leave to rest for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. Melt butter in a pan (crepe pan if you have access to it) pour mixture into the pan and circulate until it thinly covers the base of the pan. Cook until no longer runny on top, then flip.
  3. Add your desired topping onto the crepe and fold the edges, making a square.
